Tungsten alloy rivet top bar, also known as rivet bracket, is one of the most important professional tools for aircraft maintenance. The main function is on the back of the working face, which is a part of the riveting process. It cooperates with riveting gun to rivet rivets more easily.
It is usually made of tungsten alloys with high specific gravity. The most prominent feature of this material is the high density of 17-19g/cm3. Only gold or platinum metals can achieve comparable density, but these metals are much more expensive. Other foreign materials, such as rhenium, uranium or tantalum, are either difficult to obtain, expensive or unsatisfactory in mechanical properties.
How to use tungsten alloy rivet top bar to install rivets?
When installing rivets, local special rivet top rods should be used for specific rivet installation. The installation of rivets is simply to fix rivets in a stable place. Rivet refers to the use of its own deformation to connect riveted parts in riveting. There are many kinds of rivets, and they are free of form. The rivet is essentially a metal rod with a metal pin at one end, which passes through a hole between two pieces of metal. Rivet top rod is used on the back of metal rivet to resist hammering force, which can absorb rivet gun force and reduce buckling vibration.
1. Insert rivet into rivet hole.
2. Pneumatic hammer is used to hit the top of rivet and tungsten alloy rivet rod is used to hold the other end of rivet.
3. Find a stable center for rivets and tungsten alloy rivets. It doesn't have to be very accurate, but the closer to the center, the better the rivet will be fixed.
4. Fix the rivet with tungsten alloy rivet top rod, and then use pneumatic hammer to completely nail the rivet into the rivet hole.
