Cemented carbide is also known as tungsten carbide. Cemented carbide is a kind of alloy material which is made of hard compound of refractory metal and bonding metal by powder metallurgy process. Tungsten carbide alloy has a series of excellent properties, such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance and corrosion resistance, especially its high hardness and wear resistance.
Material classification
1. Tungsten cobalt cemented carbide
The main components are tungsten carbide alloy (WC) and binder cobalt (CO).
Its brand is composed of "YG" ("hard, cobalt" initials in Chinese Pinyin) and the percentage of average cobalt content. For example, YG8 means that the average WCO is 8% of the WC ball picture, and the rest are tungsten cobalt cemented carbide of tungsten carbide alloy. General tungsten cobalt alloys are mainly used in: carbide cutting tools, tungsten carbide balls, molds, as well as geological and mineral products.
2. Tungsten titanium cobalt cemented carbide
The main components are tungsten carbide alloy, titanium carbide (TIC) and cobalt.
Its brand is composed of YT (Chinese phonetic initials for hard and titanium) and the average content of titanium carbide. For example, YT15 represents an average tic of 15%, and the rest are tungsten carbide and tungsten titanium cobalt cemented carbide with cobalt content. Cemented carbide indexable inserts have high performance requirements. Therefore, tungsten titanium cobalt cemented carbide is commonly used.
3. Tungsten titanium tantalum (niobium) cemented carbide
The main components are tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, tantalum carbide (or niobium carbide) and cobalt. This kind of cemented carbide is also called universal cemented carbide or universal cemented carbide. Its brand is composed of "YW" (the first two characters of Hanyu and Wanzhou) plus the serial number, such as yw1.
