RO5200, non-alloy tantalum, using electronic bombardment furnace or vacuum arc melting or both;
RO5400, non-alloy tantalum, consolidated by powder metallurgy;
RO5255, tantalum alloy, 90% tantalum - 10% tungsten, using electronic bombardment furnace or vacuum arc melting or both.
RO5252, tantalum alloy, 97.5% tantalum - 2.5% tungsten, using electronic bombardment furnace or vacuum arc melting or both.
RO5240, tantalum alloy, 60% tantalum - 40% niobium, using electronic bombardment furnace or vacuum arc melting or both.
Tantalum and its alloy billets can be produced by powder metallurgy or smelting process. Powder metallurgy process is mostly used to produce small tantalum products and blanks for processing. Powder tantalum raw materials prepared by thermal reduction or electrolysis are pressed and molded and then sintered in vacuum.Vacuum consumable arc and electron beam smelting are common methods to produce tantalum and its alloy ingots.
